Andhra Pradesh Power lifting Association was founded in 1975 and Andhra Pradesh Power lifting Associatation is a member of the Indian Power lifting Federation (IPF), the governing body of Power lifting nationally.
Distinct from weightlifting, a sport made up of two lifts: the Snatch and the Clean-and-Jerk, where the weight is lifted above the head, power lifting comprises three lifts: the Squat, Bench Press and Dead lift. Power lifting competitions may be comprised of one, two or all three of the lifting disciplines.
Andhra Pradesh Power lifting Association is Organized for local and district events where power lifters can compete in hopes of qualifying for the State level events. Andhra Pradesh Power lifting Association sanctions several State Championships in all age groups, giving athletes a chance to see how they fare against competitors across the state. Top competitors are selected by Andhra Pradesh Power lifting Association to compete in seven IPF national championships- the national Men’s and Women’s Power lifting Championships, National Junior and Sub-Junior Power lifting Championships, National Master’s Power lifting Championships, the National Bench Press Championships, and National Master’s Bench Press Championships.
Andhra Pradesh Power lifting Association has representative in 13 districts. We have Also member in Indian Powerlifting Federation, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh olympics Association...etc. Each district association & All Others sports Board member are responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Power lifting’s local competitions, district & state championships, state records. Andhra Pradesh Power lifting operates as a non-profit organization. An Executive Committee, headed by the President, is responsible for the operations of the organization. The Executive Committee acts.
